Rep. Ackerman invited to participate in Legorreta Cancer Center retreat

House Deputy Majority Whip Mia Ackerman was invited to participate in the Legoretta Cancer Center's annual retreat, which was held today and brought together cancer researchers and doctors from around the world

Whip Ackerman commented, "It was a privilege to attend this retreat, and the doctors and researchers involved are amazing. They are working tirelessly to find cures and treatments for all forms of cancer. It gives me a lot of hope!"

The Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University is building world-class cancer research programs that bring basic science discoveries about cancer, interdisciplinary clinical, translational, and population research to innovative therapeutic, disease intervention and cancer prevention clinical trials to patients in the State of Rhode Island. The Cancer Center is an outgrowth of the Joint Program in Cancer Biology at Brown and Lifespan.
